You know, sometimes we don't have to write sequels, and I think that's okay. I was SUCH a huge fan of Better than the Movies. The angst, the drama, the pining, ugh. It had it all. I was a bit hesitant when I saw Nothing like the Movies was a second chance romance, but hey! I love some good drama so I figured I'd give it a shot. Granted, this book is 2 years post-Better than the Movies, Wes and Liz didn't feel like themselves. Liz's constant use of gaaah! (this drove me nuts) and Wes's self-sabotaging and lowkey cruel (iykyk) actions didn't feel true to who they were. I felt like the ENTIRE book was a painful miscommunication and it had me ripping my hair out. And when they finally got together I was thinking.. "okay, but like there's no way they last if that's how they handled everything that just went down with them." 3 stars feels generous, but it was a quick & captivating read so I need to give credit where credit is due.
