Priest by Sierra Simone

4.0

this was everything it said it was going to be and not the cringe i was expecting lol

it was all just banging, 80% sex, 20% personal struggle and it was damn good-  the smut was very well written so not complaining and loved Tyler's character as a priest and his inner struggle with being a priest and choosing love but those last 100 pages irrationally pmo. why did poppy have to concoct this plan to kiss her ex to lead to Tyler leaving her and she runs away. I shouldn't be surprised this even happened because all they know is good sex 😭 so they did end up together but it annoye me
up until this point i was vibing so I'm pretending they just talked instead of them both running away (not that Tyler's self discovery in Kenya wasn't necessary) but could've been done without the whole breakup drama that wasn't even good breakup drama. it was just done to emphasize him eventually getting to do something for himself.

I think because we barely got any poppy pov, just about 5 cringe monologue confessions 😂 but i think this suffered from a lack of dual pov because it made her unlikeable as we never saw why she made the choices she did which understandable for more drama build up but I did enjoy reading a more male focused narrative. even though it really just shows how men think differently to women or how women think men think idk
