Je Suis a Toi by Pepper Winters

5.0

I didn't review each book so I am going to do a collective one here.

WOW this series is just insane. My first Pepper WInter's book was Unseen Messages which was decent. I had good and bad things to say about it. But once Crown of Lies came out and I fell i love, I needed to try more Winter's books and chose this series to start.

This series gives a new meaning to the word "dark." When I see dark written on a book genre chances are itll deal with issues such as rape, and/or involve BDSM. Sometimes more than that. but this series involved rape and kidnapping, plenty of abuse, and sex that went well beyond BDSM. BUT saying that, there was nothing forced between the hero and heroine. I've never read anything like this, but after this series I would say I am corrupted.

Tess as a character I'l say is a pretty good heroine. Considering everything she went through in book 1 alone, she's pretty strong. And then in book 2 and 3...oh poor girl. But after everything, she came out on top with Q.

Quinton "Q" Mercer is something else. He's dark, beyond possessive, crazy in bed. See the image I'm drawing here? BUT it's not done in a negative way per say. He's not possessive and protective of her in the traditional dark romance way. This really fits his character and the plot,. First, considering she was sold to him as a slave, he has a right to be possessive. Then when he falls for her, and after everything she goes through, being possessive and protective is pretty warranted.

I think the series went through a good amount of waves: book 1 was the introduction to the life and characters. Book 2 was where everything basically blew up and ended on a vicious side of Q. And then the healing. and book 3 is the aftermath. Tess was given as a slave, and later taken in book 2 as peyment/revenge. Then when Q kills everyone to get her back, he's f course in danger in book 3. So like I said it goes through a nice circle.
Then this novella was a beautiful look into the future. I won't say what it's about but I guessed it going into the book. I liked the look into years after they were married, and it gave an update on the other characters as well.

Overall this is a fantastic series! I will be reading more of Pepper Winter's books
