The only question is whether this is the greatest novel of all time. Dense beyond belief, recursive, brutal, and often overwhelming. I have read nothing like it.
A book that makes me want to lop off stars from nearly every other book I've ever read, as they're not worthy. Still, as a huge fan of challenging lit, this is about as hard as it gets. It is 400 pages of unremitting focus, best read in a short period of time and with a pen and post its handy. You need a System to grasp this book.
