The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
by Michelle Hodkin
Ok so I gave this book 3 stars because I loved the characters but the plot was so confusing I could not keep up. It was more akin to a Wattpad story than an actual book.
Ok, so this book is about mara dyer and how she is part of a terrible accident but is the only one who survives. When she and her family decide to move after the accident they end up in Miami Florida. While there Mara meets Noah and soon they get caught up in an adventure that is sure to change their lives forever.
So I really enjoyed this book but I was so confused, like consistently confused throughout this story. First, I wish there was more reason for Mara and Noah's abilities because right now all we know is that they have these abilities not where they came from or how they got them they just showed up out of nowhere one day. Also, I didn't understand how Johanna had anything to do with this story line how does that connect to Mara and why is she so mad, like I know her brother gets kidnapped but even that doesn't make sense like he just disappeared and doesn't remember it and goes along with maras lies.
Finally, I did like things about this book though like Noah his relationship with Mara is so cute and it makes the little hopeless romantic in me very happy. Also, I enjoyed the ending the pace picked up at the end and I liked it.
Overall I did enjoy this book I will probably read the next book but the plot was a little iffy here and there.
