In the small town of Sweet Hills, Texas, everyone is familiar with the notorious Walsh family. But Piper Walsh has worked hard to make a good life for herself and her younger sister. Unfortunately, keeping her head down doesn't work with Hale Winters, the arrogant and sexy sheriff who only sees her as trouble with a capital T. Despite their mutual vows to steer, Piper and Hale clash at every turn and animosity soon turns to an intense attraction they cannot ignore. Can a girl from the wrong side of the tracks have a future with the town's golden boy?

Series note: Piper and Hale first meet in book #3, and characters from book #1 and #2 are mentioned and appear. That said, all necessary information is provided and the plot is unconnected.

North and Faith's book was obviously going to be a tough act to follow, yet Jordan manages to outdo herself with Piper and Hale.

The intensity of Piper and Hale's antagonistic, opposites-attract romance is off-the-charts as they can't be in the same room together without clashing verbally and physically. There are times when Hale's overbearing dominance skirts the line, but he manages to avoid crossing it through his evident love for Piper, and hers for him.

Piper is an incredible heroine with amazing strength and resilience and her heartbreaking secret only enhances her appeal. The fact that Hale doesn't even blink at the revelation, despite his apparent black-and-white view of the world, is a testament to his love for Piper.

All in all, another amazing addition to the series, and I am sad it will be coming to an end with Cruz Walsh's book next.
