This turned out to be nothing like I expected- and I had gone in with no expectations.
What started as a story that had some deep commentary on feminism, the patriarchy, desire- turned into a sapphic erotica. I feel that the erotica threw away any deeper meaning that had been cultivated in the first third. There was a way to blend both meaning and emotion. It wasn’t this. At the beginning of this book, I thought I was going to give it a 4 stars or more and tell you about all the lovely quotes I tabbed. Unfortunately there aren’t as many tabs as I’d hoped. The ending was also very lack luster.
