It seems like it’s been forever that I’ve been waiting for Jillian Braden to get her HEA. Almost just as long has been the knowledge that she would pair with the allusive Johnny Bad. When they finally meet in person, things are explosive, and not in a good way for them. Johnny’s world has taken a sharp turn he wasn’t expecting throwing his life into turmoil and Jillian happens to show up just as this shock is taking place. It’s hectic and rife with misunderstanding and written in such a fun way that also gets to the heart of these characters.

The first half of this book takes place with Johnny and Jillian staying off the grid in their own little bubble with Johnny’s just-discovered teenage daughter. It’s a wonderful way to get to know them all and for them to get to know each other. It’s fantastic to see Johnny go from an overconfident rock star to a bumbling dad. I love when he shows his vulnerability and lets his guard down.

When it comes to Jillian and Johnny together, I didn’t always get a lot of zings, but there was always a great warmth between them that was quite lovely. I loved their willingness to work together for Zoey and for their stolen time together.

As the trio makes their way back to the real world, with Jillian’s home being separate from that of Johnny and Zoey, the angst starts to kick in. Should they pursue a relationship? What is best for Zoey? Can they find a way to make it all work or are there too many obstacles in their way? There are ample opportunities for misunderstandings, but they always seem to have patience and talk things out before letting their emotions spiral too far.

While this story is touching and beautiful in so many ways, it’s also hot. Johnny Bad has a dirty, dirty mouth and Jillian loves it as much as I do. Jillian is a strong, independent woman out of the bedroom but Johnny can turn her knees to jelly with his words.
