TW: Animal abuse/experimentation on animals.

This is weird to review, because I was actually really enjoying this book. It's thought provoking and generally well done. It covers a lot of different aspects of loneliness and seems to be thoroughly researched. It's those things that make the issues with it stand out, though.

For one, the complete and utter lack of warning leading into the section on Harry Harlow sucks. While I understand why that section was included, I do not go into a book about loneliness prepared to read the details of decades of animal abuse done in the name of "research". With content/trigger warnings thankfully becoming more common in print books, I think it's fair to want this book to include one.

The section on guns was also kind of odd. I generally agree with the authors stance (as in, I'm pretty anti-gun), but her opinion in this section was just kind of... thrown in, and the main point of discussion, when it isn't that way with the other topics in this book.

And lastly, because I wish I saw this review for the authors other book, [b:Imagine Wanting Only This|31160314|Imagine Wanting Only This|Kristen Radtke|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1471280542l/31160314._SX50_.jpg|51799098], before reading this book, I'm including it here. TL;DR the author stole photos from the memorial for a deceased person she did not know. This review is written by his mother.
