Never Lie by Freida McFadden
1.0
I've seen so much hype for this book....
I think I just don't enjoy freidas writing style. This book was FULL of cliche literary expressions and I could not stop rolling my eyes about them throughout the first three quarters of the story. This story seems like it's written by a teen girl, for a teen girl, and that just doesn't vibe with me. I had a very hard time reading Tricias pov. It was likely purposefully done to make her sound young and annoying, but the way every single thought was expressed in detail I wanted to slightly pull my hair out.
The ending didn't surprise me, which was a bummer. Maybe I've read way too many Agatha Christie novels with fantastic twists and intrigued that I had too high of expectations. For the rating to be so high for this book...I just really don't understand what everyone is loving about it.
The final twenty-ish pages were the only enjoyable parts imo, the rest was full of fluff and sparkles. Probably not going to read anything else from Freida
