If You Give a Pig the White House: A Parody for Adults by Faye Kanouse
5.0
I love browsing the sections at Barnes and Noble where they have the political parodies and the like. So many of them are fun to leaf through and play with, and they offer great insights into the sh*tshow that is the US government.
When I was reading this book, I had a few doubts about how well it would stick to the "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" format that comes back to the title as the last sentence. I was pleasantly surprised at how these authors made it work.
I think, and especially over the last four years, that political humor and satire is what this country has needed. It's why I always watch The Late Show with [a:Stephen Colbert|6649|Stephen Colbert|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1192028567p2/6649.jpg]. I need this as a way to relax, and I am happy when I find little gems like this book that keep me afloat in these dark times. I highly recommend it to anyone who is just plain tired of the Trump administration as of right now and needs a little bit of a satirical reprieve.
