Heartstopper: Volume Three
by Alice Oseman
Okay so hear me out.
Volumes one and two, partially I think because like everyone else I've already seen the series didn't do a massive amount for me. But I think in retrospect it's a perfectly sweet rather uncomplicated foundation to build more on top of.
The one of the biggest discussions around the series for me was one of adult queer people's feelings of having missed out on the kind of queer adolescence found (to my knowledge) only in fiction....vol 3 touches on this.
The never ending coming out process...vol 3
A trans character being given a really normal l romance without their transness playing a bigger role in the story than they do...vol 3
it's my verdict that Alice is taking her time and ticking all the boxes, touching on so much and opening up people to conversations that aught be had.
It's also just really sweet
