We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix
2.0
slow-paced

In the 1990s, the heavy metal band Dürt Würk was on the brink of fame when their lead singer, Terry Hunt, left to become a superstar solo artist, abandoning his bandmates. Twenty years later, former guitarist Kris Pulaski discovers that Terry’s success may have come from a deal that cost Kris her soul. This revelation prompts Kris to reunite the band and confront Terry.

Take my recipe with a grain of salt, because I have been putting this book off for awhile, intentionally, because I just knew that a book about a metal band was just not going to be for me, and I was right. I am a fan of Grady Hendrix, which is ultimately why I decided to try this one. Unfortunately, my disinterest on the subject matter made it basically impossible for me to connect with any of this, but the biggest disappointment of this whole boring book was that it didn't feel like a horror book at all. I can always count on Grady Hendrix to deliver great scares and intense horrific scenes, and this book was really lacking in that department as well. There were a few classic Hendrix moments that I liked, but most of this did not have the scare factor that his other books all have.
