Pacing was a little weird and slow in the beginning. But the payoff was *CHEF'S KISS so so satisfying. If you like books with strong female characters, vengeance, magic, witches, and puritanical settings this book is definitely for you.
If you are sensitive to the YT antagonists getting their comeuppances, and you feel like they didn't deserve it because "they were fathers and husbands" ...then this book is DEFINITELY not for you. If you are against violence as a response to a marginalized character being tortured and humiliated , then this book is not for you. May I suggest something more baysic to your tastes then and point you to The Giving Tree? Perhaps that is more up to your speed.
