I think this book would have been more practical for someone who follows a more animist and spirit focused practice than the one I follow. There's some practical advice in here that I'll definitely be using, but there's also some parts that definitely felt a bit like cultural appropriation. (Like usage of chakras and hoodoo) This book might be a great fit for someone else, but it wasn't perfect for me, a lot of these techniques just aren't what I'm looking for.
