I enjoyed this one, although it did feel somewhat reminiscent of Steadfast by Sarina Bowen, and I think I like this better. This was a slow burn that I actually liked. There was very aggressive flirting, but they also built a friendship along the way. My biggest issue with some slow burns is how repetitive the back and forth can be before they finally get together, but I did not get that here, which I greatly appreciated. I will say that the pacing was a little off for me at times, especially with the overarching story of Kieran's revenge. He mentions it in the beginning, and then it's not really addressed much until about halfway through the book. I was still able to keep with it because of the relationship building in the first half of the book. Overall, it's a great read, and I'm interested to see where the story goes with book two.
