The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix

3.0

I really wanted to like this book, and there were definitely points where I did. However, Hendrix tried to convey women with trauma in a way that shows support groups don't work or are toxic in ways. Having not been in a group setting before, the dynamic was off with the women of the group. Also, trying to use Dr. Carol as a red herring for Skye was obviously poorly utilized. If anything, Garret should have been in that place. The ending also felt unsatisfying mainly because of the fact that Stephanie was brought into the group when the other members were traumatized by her. Why would they welcome her into the group?? The scenes at the camp were good, in the way of how the monsters were being portrayed.
