Life In Pieces by Dawn O'Porter

2.0

I read O'Porter's piece about freeze-drying her cat and knew I had to read more. She's captivating and hilarious and just such an interesting person!

Unfortunately Life in Pieces was not that. As others have reviewed, it's pretty repetitive and a bit alarming how much she drinks and does drugs while watching her two boys. I also feel a bit embarrassed for them with how much she constantly documents their accidents and potty training failures.

I wanted to feel like O'Porter was my bestie, but I feel a bit put off. It's fun to see the inside of a celebrity's home, but at the same time, my husband and I were essential workers during the pandemic and I would have loved to stay home with my family instead of put in bonus hours on the job. O'Porter is pretty petulant about being home and enjoying her gourmet meals and nonstop vices.

A little bummed. Not sure I'll try her novels or not. Bummer.
