There are books that you like, books that you love, books that become favorites. Then there are books that captivate your very soul in a way that you don’t see coming.  Child of Shivay is that epic kind of captivating. You have a winning combination of compelling characters, beautiful world building, and plot that twists, turns, and keeps you guessing and second guessing your own internal theories days after you have finished it. The kind of book that you instantly want to re-read and keep an epic lore binder to connect all the threads. Child of Shivay is the first book in JR Cather’s Veils of Terr trilogy. You have an FMC that is the perfect blend of stabby and sassy. You have broody males that make you want to reach into the page and touch them. And you have a cast of supporting characters that you would legit lay down your own life for. Seriously, Tig is the best and I love her. No review I think could adequately do this justice so I’ll just say this: Read it. No Notes.
