Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman

4.0

Oh, oh woe-oh-woah is me
The first time that you touched me
Oh, will wonders ever cease?
Blessed by the mystery of love

One can be straight, one can have a different sexual orientation but, during our course of life, we've all been heartbroken. I think its the fact which made this book immensely popular.

What I liked most was the style of narration. It was deep, dreamy and melancholic and at the same time very much intense.

I don't think this is everyone's cup of tea. This is a coming-of-age novel, has no distinct plot and sometimes its difficult to read as the language is not what I was familiar with. But once I got the hold of it, it was a rewarding experience.

I love how the author plays with the language. I think he has done justice in describing Elio's emotions. I wrote down so many quotes but I had to give up at the end as it was overwhelming.

This is one of the rare occasions where I got the urge to watch the movie, right after I read the book. It was a beautiful movie. I loved it.

I've put off reading this in the past few years, but finally I read this as the first book I read this year, and I'm glad that I did.
