very glad i read a shadow in the ember before this, gives a lot of relevant backstory. But then it also ruins what I think would’ve been a pretty big twist that being that poppy is a primal .
Also if heart mates are such a rare thing then WHY IS EVERYONE HEARTMATES, like at least make the lore somewhat believable.
I wish there was less of the typical tropes of the fmc being fated to save the realms, but it’s a typical romantasy so that is to be expected I guess. Would just be nice if there was slightly more originality, but I guess if it’s not broke don’t fix it.
I love Cas and Keiran. Also very glad that Delano didn’t die, but again with the predictability of bringing main characters back to life. I wish authors weren’t so scared of killing off main characters, it would make the stakes feels so much higher. Like obviously none of the main 3 will die so I never feel scared about it.
