This was the most adorable, ghibli-esque graphic novel ever and I continue to be a huge fan of Wendy Xu's work after I read and adored Mooncakes a couple of years ago. This is inspired by Chinese mythology, specifically water dragons, and I loved this magical element so much. The book also focusses on living up to your family's expectations and never feeling good enough and it was handled so well. Though this is marketed as a middle grade novel, I know that readers of all ages will love this!
