I just went to see the Roundabout Theatre Company and American Repertory Theater's co-production of 1776 last week (which was absolutely PHENOMENAL, I need there to be a cast recording, like, yesterday), so I thought I'd finally get around to reading the libretto of my favorite musical of all time. The one thing I absolutely love about this show is how it emphasizes the human-ness of history, while at the same time refusing to absolve or gloss over the many sins of the past for the sake of glorifying it. 100% recommend over Hamilton, and I'm not sorry about it.
