The People of Forever Are Not Afraid
by Shani Boianjiu
It's such a special treat to read a friend's book, especially one that you helped translation. I have no idea how non-Israelis would feel upon reading this, but for me, it was nostalgic at times, horrifying at others, it's such a state-of-mind sort of book with a lot of direct translations from Hebrew and a very associative writing. It's almost spoken rather than written, and while it's fiction and on occasions exaggerated, it still gives you a unique look into something you don't hear about, not really.
