raydrinkingtea 's review for:
Oppenheimer
by Christopher Nolan
I read this script while rewatching the film, to be able to write my IA on how the film scewed the perception of the real figure of J. Robert Oppenheimer. And this, as you can imagine, was an experience. I have a lot of critism to how the film makes Oppenheimer into a figure with "guilt", that American Prometheus, but i'm a completely different way than the book does. Oppie hated the idea of him holding on to guilt and feelings depressed over it, he always held responsibility for what he created, but as he has been quoted many times, guilt is not what he holds.
I will write a lot more, but I want to save that energy for my actual essay on this topic, rather than my review over here.
I still think it's a beautifully done film, and I definitely enjoyed seeing the scenes and dialogue that were cut in the movie from the original script, it often provides lacking information that is needed to understand the contexts and reasons for certain conclusions.
Regardless, I might come back here in the future to share my thoughts after living with this film and analysing it for so long and so thoroughly. Goodbye J. Robert Oppenheimer.
