interesting premise, a reality for many lgbtqia+ poc
definitely would have enjoyed a full length book :(
giving it a 3 bc it wasn't really fleshed out properly which can be attributed to the format (short story)
also I would have enjoyed some back story on how the lie = trigger water event arose!!! missed op imo
