This book was the perfect behind-the-scenes look at the events of Powerless. I loved seeing Adena help Paedyn accomplish her mission with Kitt, and Paedyn never even knew it. 🥺 Also, Adena had a tragic love story of her own, previously unbeknownst to the reader. Makoto better not have been introduced for no reason. If he is not out for revenge in the next book, I will riot! A worthwhile interlude while we await the kingdom’s fate.
