The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
5.0
"I am but paper, brittle and thin. I am held up to the sun, and it shines right through me. I get written on, and I can never be used again. These scratches are a history. They're a story. They tell things for others to read, but they only see the words, and not what the words are written upon. I am but paper, and though there are many like me, none are exactly the same."
This is such a sweet, wholesome story. I loved getting to watch Linus change from a strict, rule-following pencil pusher to a kind-hearted, confident man who stands up for what he believes in because he fell in love with a group of children (well, and Arthur of course) who were deemed menaces to society.
I think this book seriously changed me. I read this at the perfect time, when things are changing in my life and people have opinions about the choices I've made, because it's something they don't understand. This just really resonated with me and absolutely made me cry
