There were good bits and there were a lot of bits that I felt I had to struggle through. The ending sweetened the experience enough to almost make me round it up to 4 stars. Almost.
As a clear criticism, by now I feel there are no stakes in this series given how the main-ish cast gets saved every book. That took a lot of the Blood Rite impact away. I was caught a bit off-guard by the sheer amount of spicy scenes.
Given my favorite of the series is ACOWAR, I've been more in it for the action and strategy and less for the romance.
But then again I'll keep reading once the new books come out cause I want to see more of the other characters (namely Lucien and Eris) and the courts. Overall an entertaining read, not my favorite but okay.
