The Simple Truth by James Buckler

4.0

Rookie lawyer Lewis Miller is tasked by a wealthy client to deliver a non-disclosure agreement to the family of a young woman found dead in a car at a local beauty spot, then the case can be closed.
Keen to do a good job and further his career, Lewis sets off to complete his mission - how hard can it be? After all, it looks like a straightforward case of suicide…..or is it??
It’s as far from the simple truth as it could possibly get - that’s for sure. Lewis feels compelled to dig a bit deeper but little does he know what dangers he might face by doing so…

I thought this was a really well paced and gripping thriller which kept me hooked and totally engaged with the characters and the plot. It was full of twists and turns with nice short chapters - the kind where the intrigue eggs you on to read just one more…oh go on then!!
As a result I whizzed through this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. I really liked the character of Lewis Miller and hope to see him crop up in future books by this author.
If you like a meaty legal thriller then I’m certain you’ll be immensely entertained by this one!
