No hate to the male gender, but I’m really surprised a man could write a book that I connect with so deeply and showcase the strength of women so effectively.
Went in blind and was completely surprised by the way the story takes shape. The writing was SO good that you feel completely attached to each character. At times hard to read, but my favorite books are totally authentic about the way the world works and despite the tough themes, this accomplished that. I found myself getting genuinely upset during the low moments and proud(?) of certain characters at the good times. A little bit of a slow start but it paid off in the end.
Overall, a book that will stick with me for a while which must always be rewarded.
