Overall enjoyable read, though I did feel that giving the WWII-era storyline three characters made it feel a bit imbalanced (personally, I could have done without the Beth plotline, I don't think it added much). Also, I REALLY wish they had changed the present-day dates from 2021 to 2019 (they must have had time to change a handful of chapter headers, surely), as there's no mention at all of the pandemic. It's the only time I've read a historical novel where the blatantly inaccurate part was the present-day section.
