Worthwhile read for anyone who is a therapist, patient, or considering becoming either.  Yalom's 'open letter' gave me visibility into a therapists approach to method, boundaries (emotional as well as physical), and how to center the sessions on 'here and now'.  Be courageous enough to be yourself, be honest enough to admit mistakes and to dive into more confounding issues.

I found the author's presence and patience to be inspiring - keeping the long-term goal front of mind, even if it means having to defer action/discussion on other issues.  Not sure I'm doing it justice, so just pick it up if you're curious and see for yourself.
