Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

3.0

I read this book because I am a high school English teacher and had heard that this YA book would be a good one to recommend or read with students. The book is written in verse, with only a few words per page, so it was a quick one to get through. Presumably, students would be more inclined to read it because there isn't much to read. The book deals with the ramifications of gun violence in a family and community. It was mildly interesting. It is not overly graphic even though it deals with a violent topic. I may consider it using it in the classroom. I read a borrowed hard copy and gave it 3/5 stars on Goodreads.
