Strong 3.5 stars
Is there such a thing as too contemporary? I don't know but for me there was just something decidedly uncharming about reading a story between two influencers/youtube stars.
It was a good book, good read, and I liked the characters but it just didn't scratch my bookish itch, it felt almost like I was following a deep dive on youtuber/tiktok star tea with behind the scenes receipts. It didn't read that way, because the authors writing style is super smooth and lovely, but the story's content made it feel that way.
