Ok, so.. I loved the beginning of this book. The writing immediately reminded me of My Year of Rest and Relaxation. I won’t say it devolved, so much as it… went to unexpected places? Now, of course Jane had to do something while she was enduring home confinement, but trying to solve a murder and falling in love? There are so many moving parts with Frances’ death, so many questions that never get answered (hello!! Was it a suicide or murder??!) that, by the time Perry, who seemed interested in Jane’s performance during the horizontal tango and maybe had a slight crush, PROPOSED, and Jane said YES (???), I barely questioned it. Nice ending, though a little too happy fairy tale for how the book started.
