Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs
4.0

Briggs is doing a good job of keeping a committed relationship interesting as her Mercy Thompson series continues. Both Adam and Mercy continue growing as individuals and as a couple.

Action scenes are consistently exciting, but the action plot feels over complicated for the length of the book. The result is a lot of soliloquizing at the end. Even still, more than enough new information came out to keep me looking for what happens in future books.

Briggs made the odd choice of using multiple perspectives with one in first person and the other in third. Would have been less jarring in all third.

I still enjoy Briggs' take on werewolf mythology, throwing some of the patriarchy and über-hetero tradition on it's ear. Refreshing.
