A beautiful book, inside and out!
From page 1, I fell in love with Harrow's beautiful prose. Her writing is gorgeous and descriptive without being overly so- like reading a vivid memory instead of being told a story. If you love this kind of writing style, you will fall in love with this book.
A big drawback for me, however, was the plot. I wish this book focused on the actual Doors and the worlds that connect them. We spend the majority of this book explaining the Doors- which in some regard is the purpose of this book; however, I felt as though the lack of focus around discovering the Doors and the worlds caused the conflict to not be as suspenseful or have much of an impact.
Overall, this book has gorgeous prose and is a love letter to words and stories. The plot is not the focus, though is still engaging enough to hook you. Definitely worth the read!
