This Is How We Do It: One Day in the Lives of Seven Kids from Around the World by Matt Lamothe

4.0

I appreciate what this book sets out to do, and I think it is mostly successful. The one issue I have is that every child included has a mom and a dad and the whole family sits down to dinner. I get that it's trying to show commonalities, and that is important, but what about ALL of the kids who don't have a mom and a dad at home, or who don't get to sit down with parents for dinner every night? I worry about what they will think about themselves/their families with no diversity represented in the family structure in any of the children chosen to be highlighted.
