Noble Roots by Drew Hayes
4.5
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes

This is my first time rereading this book and I definitely felt like I forgot about a lot of what happened in this book so diving back in felt newish. I even forgot who the big bad guy was (that’s what I get for binging the book as soon as I get it).

I still agree with my previous review. I love this series. I love to see how far each of these characters have come from Maplebark and seeing the contrast between them and regular people again was a good thing. I’ve felt like in the past few books it was look how far we need to grow; while this book was look how far we have come!

Previous Review: I loved this installment! The stakes are getting higher but it doesn’t feel like the story is getting out of control or just the party is getting too over powered. Each of the members of the party are coming into their powers and growing as individuals and time is spent in this book showing how far they have come contrasting to the last book that stressed how far they have to go.

This book focused on a competition for a rare magic item and it was interesting to see all of the dynamics.
