Review: I was underwhelmed by this book. Much of the beginning was very slow and didn’t hold my interest. I would say that it was very solidly a “middle book”. It was the book in a series that stands more to provide the reader with important information than anything else. About halfway through it did start to pick up and I enjoyed it more from there.

To Help Me Remember:

Xaden is venin and Violet is working to find a cure. Additionally, Navarre is in the midst of peace talks and Violet and a “quest squad” go out to the isles in search of Andarna’s kind, the seventh breed of dragon. No cure is discovered by the end of the book, but one Irid dragon comes and helps them fire their ward stones. This saves them in the final battle of the book.
