Spells for Lost Things by Jenna Evans Welch

4.0

4-with some true 4.5 stars moments! This was a great read! I grew up in and around Salem so hearing all of the incredibly accurate references really made me immersed in the book. The author did an amazing job with that research! I loved the premise of this book and how drawn in I was to all of its elements. It’s a really strong YA read and I’m glad to have finally gotten my hands on a copy! There are some loose ends that aren’t tied up (Bea, willow’s dad, Emma’s daughter Nova, etc) that I’d have liked to seen finish their arc but overall I enjoyed the story. My heart aches for mason’s storyline and I love how fascinated he is with stargazing (I can relate lol). Docked half a star because it started strong, got a little bit weak and directionless in the middle and then wrapped up fast but overall, I really enjoyed it and being able to place myself exactly where the characters were (Gulu Gulu café, hotel salem, the movie theater, all of it!). I’m sad that I finished it!
