The Memory Book
by Lara Avery
3 stars.
A contemporary read I didn't actually want to devour because I am afraid of the cliche plot twists and love stories, The Memory Book is one unique book. I didn't analyze it the way I normally do to books, probably because this is written like a journal. It is so attached to the narrator that I think I'd end up being subjective once I analyze it. Anyway, I like it. I like Coop ever since Sammie told him about NPC. I like how he won't take a joint so he can watch over Sammie. I like how he was bothered seeing Sammie in an NPC-ridden state. I like how he is sweet and delicate despite the stoner look.
This is the first contemporary book I've read after I started analyzing books and authors' writings. I'd like to say that this one, this one here, brings my faith to contemporary books again.
