I thoroughly enjoyed this crime story by Agatha Christie which was published in 1939. As per her usual book recipe, there are a lot of potential suspects and red herrings, and it keeps you guessing for a while. I did think the murderer could be the person who committed the crimes but I couldn't put my finger on why exactly until it all made sense at the end.

It's well written, has a good pace and a mixture of weak and strong characters. But don't be fooled by any of them!  I wasn't sure about our main character, Luke Fitzwilliam, a retired police officer. I didn't find him particularly strong but I could see why Agatha Christie made him the way she did.

I haven't watched the BBC adaptation. If you've seen it, what did you think of it! And if you've read the book as well, which one did you prefer?
