One Child Too Many by Sarah Ashlyn

5.0

Bullying. Happens to everyone, right? But it can have devastating consequences.

Sarah Ashlyn explores this concept in her book “One Child Too Many,” which is set in a small town three months after the devastating loss of little Molly Peele, an eleven year old girl who committed suicide due to bullying. It is centered around her parents, Brian and Audrey, who are struggling to maintain their marriage and their mental health after their loss. Two girls, Remi and Skylar, as well as their families, also play a key role. The concept of Christianity and God is a strong force in this novel, as it guides and strengthens characters throughout the story.

This book hit me straight in the heart. The story seemed so very real, and the sad thing is, it could and has easily happen/ed in the real world today. This is a heart wrenching story, be prepared for tissues. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed it! :)
