It’s not bad but could have been told much quicker. Many moments that are supposed to feel suspenseful fall flat because it has all felt way too drawn out. I think the tenseness often relies on the switches between the future and the past, almost like one serves as a commercial break to the other just before it gets good. This works, but it feels a little annoying sometimes. Overall, it’s a decent, quick read with a darkly satisfying ending.
