Unholy Vows by Mila Kane

3.0

This book was a very decent read, however, one character in particular, (the FMC’s sister) took it from a 5⭐️to a 2.75 verrrry quickly, simply by being too stupid to live.

The MMC had some very sweet moments in which he displayed both tenderness, and a sense of emotional maturity and understanding that isn’t common in many mafia books. I liked Renato immensely.

Charlotte was an FMC who was difficult to sympathize with, in that she’s an enabler who masquerades as a martyr. Her younger sister Lucy is a 19 year old entitled, spoiled brat who thwarts Charlie at every turn, and who is constantly creating situations in which she has to be rescued, or reasoned with. This same sad scenario is on repeat throughout the entire book.
This book is essentially about Lucy’s bad behavior and poor judgment, and as a result of one of these such mishaps, the main characters meet and subsequently marry.

Overall, I don’t regret reading this book, as it was definitely entertaining.
I only wish that the awful side character hadn’t overshadowed the romance of the leads.
