dostoyevskyism 's review for:
The Wedding Ringer
by Kerry Rea
I wished this had depicted loneliness and the connections we end up finding in the least likeliest of people in a more grounded way. The story started veering towards the more dramatic and maudlin territory with every page and I hated that. I wanted something more, something more warm and layered in the relationships shown in this book. All those emotions, crying, comforting, bonding didn’t feel genuine, rather they felt so manufactured, like you could tell those crying and sweet moments were there just for the sake of making the readers cry.
