I really enjoyed reading this book I think if you liked the show it’s a lot similar to it so I wouldn’t read it right after watching it, give yourself a couple of months to miss the story and then give it a go. There were very minor changes from the show, it felt like it was word for word at times.
I did enjoy reading the Bridgerton series in general but I think the TV show took it to another level and give it a lot more depth. My problem with the books is that it is very lacking when it comes to side characters and events, you’re almost only reading the main two characters and after going through the eight books at a certain point, you feel like it’s the same epiphany and the same character arc just a different trope.
I did enjoy having it sort of as a palette cleanser between the heavier books that I’m reading; I liked knowing that I’m able to go back to this familiar story after whatever book I’m reading.
Finally, I just want to stress on how amazing the narrator was for the Bridgerton series, for Queen Charlotte I think it was OK. It wasn’t the same narrator and if I’m comparing her to the one for the Bridgerton series, Bridgerton is definitely a lot better, but the writing of queen Charlotte wins, I think Shonda‘s influence was there and secondary characters were a lot more important and their stories were integrated a lot better.
