Foxglove by Adalyn Grace

5.0

I've been eager to read Foxglove ever since I finished Belladonna at the start of this year. This was undoubtedly my most anticipated release of 2023. I must say that it did not let me down. I'm obsessed and in desperate need of more. Foxglove is both the start of Blythe's story and the conclusion of Signa's. It may be a bridge story; however, it didn't feel like it. Although the murder mystery was fantastic, the interaction between Signa, Blythe, Death, and Fate as a whole was what really made the book. I genuinely got lost reading this novel because of how completely immersive the entire setting was. The author did a good job of ensuring that we, the readers, were never quite sure where the truth lies and that seeing the world from Blythe's perspective was a wonderful addition. Simply put, I adore this tale of a gothic fantasy romance. These people and the setting have such a strong hold on me. I am eager to find out what happens next in book three, Wisteria!

“She didn’t care to be a sunflower, unfurling her petals in the daylight for all to see. She would rather be an adorable little mushroom, thriving in the dark crevices where few ventured to look.”
